3:34pm: I have never quite understood the fervent way in which my colleagues have insisted upon us celebrating Halloween. To me, it has never been much more than a silly holiday, though I suppose I can see the fun of it for the younger age group. However, it looks as if my office will be requiring me to participate in yet another Halloween party, going so far as to ask me to provide at least one refreshment.

Not once in my life have I missed work due to illness, real or imagined. However, there is a slight temptation to fall ill on the day of Halloween and miss all this pointless frivolity.
